Which car to rent in Nicaragua and when you need a 4×4

In the LAGO fleet, these vehicles are true 4×4: Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi L200, Toyota Prado and Toyota Fortuner, that is, the pickups and the premium SUVs; no other vehicle in the fleet is 4×4. Choose by how many people are traveling, how many suitcases you carry and which roads you will drive, and if in doubt, ask us on WhatsApp.

When a 4×4 makes sense

A 4×4 makes sense if your trip includes dirt or gravel roads, steep slopes or muddy stretches. For the city and paved highways, a sedan or an SUV is enough and costs less per day.

By group size

The table above shows how many passengers and suitcases each vehicle carries: choose one that fits everyone with their luggage. Before you book, also check the transmission on each vehicle page.

Before you decide

Tell us on WhatsApp your route, how many people are traveling and how much luggage you carry, and we will help you choose. Keep in mind that the security deposit depends on the vehicle category.
